Buying a Franchise

Steps for evaluating a good fit, reaching an agreement, and launching your business.

Is Keyrenter Right for You?

When buying a franchise, finding the right fit is key. Here’s what Keyrenter brings to the table:

Fundamental Benefits of the Business

Recurring revenue streams

Our business model focuses on long-term residential leases, which are more profitable and scalable, and are easier to manage.

Strong reputation

We have a 4.7 star review rating on Google nationally, with over a decade of property management experience.

Proven systems

Benefit from mature processes and innovative technology, as well as a support team to help you master them.

Industry growth

Demand for property management is growing alongside demand for rental properties, driven by long-standing macroeconomic trends.

Industry fragmentation

There is no dominant leader in the property management industry, which means there is plenty of room to claim market share.

The Intangibles

There’s more to life than business, and we understand that, too.

We provide the opportunity to run your own business, make a difference in your community, and still have the flexibility to spend time with your own family.

At Keyrenter, you’re in charge of your own schedule. If you want to be present at your children’s activities — such as games and recitals — you can make that a priority and adjust your schedule accordingly. Or maybe you want to be home for dinner every night. Again, you’re in control of your schedule.

Since joining, I've been incredibly happy — not just with work, but with life in general. I'm able to be there for my family more often. I don't miss ball games or doctor's appointments, and I get to spend more time with my loved ones while doing something I enjoy.

Why are you considering a change? Maybe you’ve been in your career a long time but know you want something else. Maybe corporate America has left you burned out. Maybe you want more control of your time, earning potential, or influence. Maybe you want to make more money in the real estate industry? These are all great reasons to join Keyrenter.

8-Step Discovery Process

The goal is to help you understand the Keyrenter franchise system while the team learns about your goals as a potential business owner. The process is based on integrity, knowledge, and respect, lasts 30–75 days, and is designed to help qualified candidates reach clarity and sign a franchise agreement if approved. This step means joining the Keyrenter Network, not opening the business yet.

Working together, we’re committed to investing the time necessary to understand your experience and what you’re seeking to accomplish. We will thoroughly explore your personal and professional needs, your fit with Keyrenter, along with the timeline, selection criteria, and investment range. We’ll discuss any fears or concerns you may have as well.

This is an essential deep-dive presentation into our vision, objectives, and the unique value proposition that our Franchise Partners offer to clients. This is where we determine whether it makes sense to continue the discussion, through an open and honest dialogue. Here, you’ll get a clear picture of our business and culture and learn the profile, style, character and habits of a successful Franchisee. If we both elect to move forward, we’ll schedule the next steps and establish firm timelines.

The confidential, non-binding questionnaire demonstrates that you are serious about exploring this opportunity and want to learn more. There is no obligation or commitment to invest at this point; once we’ve received and discussed your application, we will provide the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), which includes more detail on training, mutual obligations, the initial investment, and ongoing expenses associated with owning and operating the business.

Keyrenter has dedicated small-business lender relation- ships in place, and can help you understand the funding environment, what to expect, and the different options that could be available. We will make introductions to our funding partners, who can assist you in completing their processes. During this step, we will also review the territory selection process and provide you with a detailed territory analysis customized for your area.

The Federal Trade Commission requires a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), which is throughly reviewed with prospective candidates. This is a comprehensive information outlay, including our company background, management team, a detailed breakdown of the total investment, a full list of current Franchise Partners, our company financial and more. We want to make sure you fully understand every aspect of the business and our mutual obligations. It is also critical that we document your selection criteria and ensure that Keyrenter is the right fit for you.

This is your opportunity to meet our entire executive team in person and ask the tough questions. You’ll be immersed in the Keyrenter culture and the ways we can help you accomplish your goals through small business ownership.

After Discovery Day, our leadership team meets and reviews all candidates. If the leadership team determines that you are a good fit for the brand and that your plan outlined in the candidate packet has critical elements leading to success, you will receive an Award Letter from our team. By signing the non-binding Award Letter, you are signaling to our recruitment team that you indeed want to continue in the process and plan to wrap up any outstanding items you have with franchisee validation or funding within the agreed upon timeline and schedule your signing date!

Congratulations! You have completed the Discovery Process and are now a member of the Keyrenter family. Upon receipt of the signed Franchise Agreement and initial fees, we will schedule a launch hand-off call with our Onboarding and Operations team within one to two days. This call starts the new Franchise Partner Onboarding process and establishes a schedule for training and planning for a successful launch. Our dedicated Onboarding and Operations team will ensure that you are well-equipped as you begin to market your new business.

The Keyrenter franchising team will be with you every step of the way to ensure your grand opening goes smoothly.
